"Este Cuate" translates to "this guy" in English—so, who is this guy?
Me llamo Obri Gonzalez. I’m based in Leeds, but my roots run deep in Mexico City, where I grew up surrounded by the vibrant culture and bold flavours of Mexican street food. Being half Mexican, food has always been a huge part of my identity.
I believe that Mexican street food is the best food in the world—not just because of its flavours, but because of the stories it tells. Every taco, every salsa, every bite carries history, tradition, and passion. At Este Cuate, we aim to bring that experience to life through our food and visual storytelling, sharing the essence of Mexico one dish at a time.

Our mission is to offer a culinary adventure that transcends borders, delivering authentic Mexican flavours through a simple yet exceptional menu.
Each bite of our tacos is a journey to Mexico, changing perspectives one taco at a time. As we grow, we aim to bring the true taste of Mexico to the UK, allowing everyone to feast like the locals.
